Sources State over 100 Terrorists arrested in Migrant Caravan
In Central America, a Caravan of thousands of Migrants are making their way to the Mexican border with the hopes of reaching the American border and applying for asylum. This is not the first time this has happened. Many in American feel that we have a moral obligation to opening our borders and helping those in need. Unfortunately, there are people who are known to take advantage of our good intentions in order to pursue their own dark desires. This week's migrant caravan has stalled at the border between Guatemala and Mexico. Initially numbering approximately 3,000, caravan was stopped by Mexican authorities as the foreign ministry of Mexico tries to to consider what to do. However, reports are now coming in that among the migrants, authorities have arrested over 100 ISIS terrorists.
Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales recently told the press that his forces have apprehended over a 100 suspects from the Caravan that have ties to ISIS or other foreign terrorist organizations. Border authorities over the years have confirmed that a number of individuals with ties to terrorist groups or criminal organizations like MS-13 have been detained at the southern border, many of whom attempt to pose as migrants or refugees in order to enter the country an perform any number of illegal actions.
As it stands, some are questioning whether or not President Morales is telling the truth, or if he's simply trying to create fabrications in order to receive financial assistance from the U.S. government. However, we have to consider that this is in fact a probable scenario. Many of the recent terrorist attacks against Europe have been carried out by Jihadist terrorists who blended in with refugees crossing the Mediterranean into Europe. In fact, ISIS published a document entitled Libya: The Strategic Gateway for the Islamic State in which they provide instructions on how their fighters can blend in with the refugees in order to cross over into Europe. It would be very easy to use these same instructions for foreign terrorist operatives that are active in South & Central America.
The sad reality is that evil people will take advantage of our open hearts and seek to do us harm. As painful as it is, we cannot forsake our safety and well-being in our desire to help. We need strong security and strong vetting to ensure that the right people are properly helped, and the wrong people are kept out of our home.
