Sharing a Poem on Social Media Lands Tunisian Girl in Prison

Freedom of thought does not exist in many areas of the world, and in the West it is constantly under threat.  The case of a Tunisian girl by the name of Amna al-Sharqi is no exception.  Recently, an Algerian atheist by the name of Djilou published a poem entitled "Surah Corona," which showed the dangers that the virus posed, precautions that should be taken, and the need to embrace modern science in order to combat it.

Nothing was said about the Qur'an, Muhammad, Allah, or anything about Islam.  Despite this, the majority of Tunisians are demanding that Amna be prosecuted for sharing this post while only a minority are insisting that Amna's actions are protected by Freedom of Expression.

In response to this shared post, numerous Social Media Platforms have once again caved into the mob reaction, which is appropriately dubbed "Tyranny of the Mob," and suspended Djilou's social media accounts.  Apparently those who run the major Social Media networks believe that it makes more sense to suspend the account of the individual who wrote the poem rather than the accounts of numerous intolerant individuals who threatened to kill Amna for sharing the poem, some of which you can read below:

Now one might simply say "This threats are just words, they're meaningless."  Sadly, this is not the case in this part of the world.  In April of 2017, a Pakistani Muslim college student by the name of Mashal Khan posted similar poetry on his Facebook page, and radials whipped up the mobs and they beat him to death.  Such things are common in the Middle East nations.  So if Amna, by the Grace of God, is acquitted of these charges, she might need to try and find a way out of Tunisia, because what happened to Mashal Khan could very easily happen to her.
