Jihadist Terrorist Attacks Span the World
Many around the world have heard of that recent Jihadist attacks in France and Vienna. The French attacks resulted as a result of French Teacher Samuel Paty showing Charlie Hebdo's images of Muhammad while giving a lesson about Free Speech. Shortly afterward, he was beheaded. The French President Macron responded by showing images of Samuel Paty and the images of Muhammad that he showed to show to the world that France will not stand by and let their beliefs in Free Speech be taken away. Shortly afterward, a Jihadist attacked a church in France, stabbing three people to death (link to video). Unfortunately, the violence didn't stop there.
Macedonia, carried out a terrorist attack in Vienna, killing four and wounding over a dozen more. Kujtim Fejzulai was previously sentenced to 22 months in prison for seeking to join ISIS, but he was released early for "good behavior." Apparently, the imprisoned ISIS supporter was only telling the people in the "de-radicalization program" what they wanted to hear (link to video). Sadly, this should not be surprising. In his book Rescued from ISIS, Belgian native Dmitri Bontinck described how Belgian authorities and social programs utterly failed in de-radicalizing his son when he went to them for help, and how they've been failing in this regard all throughout Europe.
The sad fact though is these are only the cases that we're hearing about. Others have happened across the world. In Kabul Afghanistan, terrorists disguised as police officers attacked a university in Kabul, killing 35 people and wounding dozens others. This is not the first time that Jihadists have attacked schools in this country, and sadly, it won't be the last. Terrorists view these students as "future enemies" and believe than any who stand in their way, including Muslims who don't believe what they believe, must be forcefully taken out (link to video).
Aftermath of Kabul University Shooting & the Riots in Purbo Dhour |
Sadly, it still goes on beyond this. Recently in the nation Bangladesh arrested two Hindu men for "offending religious feelings." What did they do to "offend religious feelings?" Well another Bangladeshi man living in France made a Facebook post voicing approval of French President Macron's response to Samuel Paty's murder. One of the two arrested was a Bangladeshi school teacher living in the village of Purbo Dhour, posted a response in approval of this post. This voice of his approval led to his arrest and was enough to stir up a gang of radicals who burned down his home as well has the homes of several of his neighbors (link to video). If that were not enough, Jihadist militants in Cablo Delagado province of Northern Mozambique attacked the Nanjaba village. Over 50 villagers who tried to flee were captured, then taken to a nearby soccer field and beheaded. These people are the latest victims of this three-year insurgency by terrorists who have pledged their allegiance to the Islamic State (link to article).
Now my question is "How long are we going to keep deceiving ourselves into believing that this is the work of 'lone wolves' or a 'handful of radicals?" The fact that these attacks are ongoing and are spanning the globe should clue us into the tragic fact that the intolerant ideology that is motivating these terrorists and mobs is very wide-spread, very well-funded, and it is a threat to every nation on the planet. No nation, no religion, and no individual is safe from this, and we have to start accepting the fact that the Jihadist ideology poses the greatest threat to the free world, before it's too late.
