The Bridge of Grace Water Pump Mission
In April of 2023, the Bridge of Grace Mission in Pakistan adhered to the final command Jesus gave his Disciples in Matthew 28:19-20: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and behold I am with you always, to the end of the age."
During this month, the Bridge of Grace team embarked on a lengthy 34-hour journey from Lahore to the province of Sindh to bring the Good News of Jesus to villages surrounding the cities of Tharparker & Hyderbad. Throughout the villages, over 400 people heard the Gospel and gave their lives to Jesus.
The journey did not come without hardships. During the trip, the Bridge of Grace's team had their car break down on the middle of the road, far from any garage that could repair it. However they were not about to let this deter them. With the help of local villagers and supporters abroad, the team was able to locate a mechanic who traveled 15 km to repair their car so the team could continue their work.
The Bridge of Grace team did not only come to share the Good News, they also brought gifts of Great Joy! In the villages that the team visited, 10 water pumps were installed. In the Sindh province of Pakistan, clean water is a precious commodity and some villagers had to journey over 25 km for the closest water source. Now, these villagers will no longer have to make this perilous journey as they have their own source of water. Many villagers were overjoyed by this gift!
This Water Pump Mission was a huge success and it improved the lives of hundreds of people. However, this mission took a big toll on the finances of Bridge of Grace. The cost to install the 10 water pumps totaled $1500, the travel & lodging costs have been calculated at $750, and the unexpected car repairs totaled $355. These costs have seriously drained the accounts of Bridge of Grace in such a way that it may be unable to pay the monthly salaries the three elementary schools that they operate in the Punjab district.
These schools enable over 200 children whose families work as slaves in brick kilns to obtain a free education and require a monthly allowance of $2300 to remain in operation. Providing these children with free school is the only thing preventing them from having to make bricks 16 hours a day (Link to Video). This is why we are humbly asking that donations be given to help to our schools through our GoFundMe page (Link to Charity). Please help our mission. We are changing the lives of so many people, but we need your help to keep doing this. Each donation is tax deductible and helps keep a child out of slavery.
