Hamas are Masters at Playing the "Victim Card"
Hamas has mastered to role of playing "Professional Victims." On Oct. 07, 2023 the world was shocked as Hamas stormed across the Gaza perimeter and slaughtered any Israeli that got in their path. They spared nobody in their attack. Soldiers, civilians, women, children, Jews, non-Jews, foreign nationals, it made no difference to them. They carried out the attack in a fashion that would have awed Genghis Khan and inflicted the worst massacre on the Jewish people since the Holocaust.
On this day, Hamas took no shame in their actions. They gleefully posted videos of them killing Israelis & taking them hostage. They posted photos of the slaughter on their social media accounts and called their relatives to brag about how many they killed. Yet just as the world outrage against their actions began to grow, they immediately turned around and played the "victim card." When Israel began retaliating, they called out on their sympathizers around the world to "March for Gaza." They called on them to "Demand a Ceasefire." They began spewing their propaganda of Israel bombing and firing on hospitals even as the IDF revealed footage showing that hospitals were stockpiled with weapons with terror tunnels running underneath & that some of the damage was the result of misfired rockets & not Israeli airstrikes. They claimed that Israel was responding with disproportionate force and not giving civilians enough time to get out of harms way. Yet did Hamas give any of the Israeli civilians time to get out of harms way when they attacked? Did they even bother to try and distinguish Israeli soldier from civilian? No, they did not.
The truth is, we should not be surprised by any of this. This has been a tactic employed by Jihadists since the time of Muhammad. When Muhammad, the founder of the Islamic faith, first started to declare himself a prophet, much of the Meccan community reacted with scorn & indifference, leading Muhammad to play the "victim card." Muhammad reacted to their scorn and indifference with hostility, which led to hostility being returned, and naturally, Muhammad claimed he was falling victim to Meccan persecution. So he left for Medina with his followers and once he had enough support, began his war on Mecca which started with Caravan raids and eventually graduated to open battles (Surah 2:191) with Muhammad justifying this war with statements of "past persecution" which in truth means "rejection of Islam" and that the enemies are to be fought until is no more "persecution" (Surah 2:193) which in truth means "Islam is accepted & now dominant."
Victimhood is found in Islam's original text, and under this mentality, Hamas and their supporters believe that the slaughter of Jews & other non-Muslims, regardless of their age, sex, or nationality, is justified and preferable to the any kind of suffering that Muslims are currently enduring. So Hamas is therefore free and justified to launch a mass slaughter against the Israeli people, but under their "victimhood" mentality, any kind of response by Israel must be condemned immediately (Link to Video).
