Hamas Steals Aid from Gaza
In a video that went viral on social media, the IDF displayed a suitcase filled with currency valued at $1.3 million. These funds were found in the home of a top Hamas official in the Jabaliya region of Gaza. The money was supposedly stolen by Hamas from the Gaza aid fund, money that could have been used to help provide the residents with clean water, food, & fuel. This is not the first time that Hamas has been accused of stealing funds that was supposed to go to the populace. The massive terrorist tunnel complex that is found underneath Gaza and managed by the al-Qassam Brigades is estimated to have an annual budget of $140 million a year to dig out, construct, & maintain the massive tunnel complex. IDF intelligence estimates that at least 6,000 tons of concrete & 1,800 tons of metal were used to build these tunnels that have been fully outfitted with plumbing, air filtration, & electricity, much of it with material stolen from the UNRWA (Link to Article). Israeli hostage Nili Margalit (Link to Video), who was held inside of the tunnels learned that the complex is so massive that it is referred to as "Little Gaza."
This isn't the only time that Hamas has been accused of stealing aid from the citizens of Gaza. Footage has shown Hamas militants stealing aid from UN trucks as they come into Gaza to try and bring relief to the populace. Gazan civilians have also informed the IDF that Hamas is constantly stealing food and other necessities both from civilians and from the UNRWA and that civilians who try and stop this have been shot. Hamas defector Mosab Hassan Yousef has warned the world for years that Hamas cares nothing for the Palestinian people, and these actions of theft committed by Hamas are serving to verify this accusation.
