The Persecution of "Nicholas" and his family in Pakistan

Seven years ago, a Pakistani Christian man whom I shall call "Nicholas" married a young Muslim woman whom I shall call "Amber" to protect their identity.  Today they have two little children.  "Amber's" family was strongly opposed to the marriage as Sharia Law mandates that Muslim women cannot marry non-Muslim men.  This led them to file a police complaint against "Nicholas."  For two years, they fought the courts and were finally granted permission to marry, but they're still not safe.  The family was forced to flee their native city of Faisalabad and settle in another part of the country.  They will never be able to go back to Faisalabad again as "Amber's" family has sworn to kill them both.  After fleeing, "Amber" converted to Christianity.

When I interviews them, they informed me that they received help from one Christian organization for two years and several promised to get them out of Pakistan, but none have kept their promise.  They are not safe and are still living in hiding.  At this present time, they don't care where in the world that they go, as long as they can live in peace.  Due to the necessity of having to live in hiding, they must be careful about when and where they work.  As a result, they cannot earn enough to purchase food, shelter, and pay for their children's education without outside assistance.  Everyday that he leaves for work, "Nicholas" if they're going to die.
"Nicholas" told me that he owes his life to his wife, that she is as pure-hearted as they come.  If it were not for her testimony in court, he would have been sent to prison or executed.  Every day is a struggle to earn their daily bread, but they are grateful to be alive and they know that the Lord is with them.

You can help provide families like this with the aid that they need to survive.  By sending a tax-deductible donation to Express Missions International, you can give support to "Amber & Nicholas," along with other Pakistani Christians in need.  Simply note that you want your donation to go to the A&R Relief Project, and your donation will go directly to providing relief for persecuted Pakistani Christians.
