Terrorists Attack Bus of Coptic Christians Making Pilgrimage to Egyptian Monastery

Coptic Child Mourns Slain Parents
The opening of November witnessed yet another massacre of Coptic Christians in Egypt.  A busload of Coptic Christians were on their way to the Monastery of St. Samuel the Confessor in the desert outside the city of Cairo.  As the bus was driving, the Christians were ambushed by gunmen pledging allegiance to ISIS.  Seven Coptic Christians lost their lives in this latest act of terrorism in Egypt.  Ever since the Arab Spring, which should be called the ISIS Winter, Egypt has seen wave after wave of militant terrorist attacks on innocent people throughout the countryside.

For years, security forces have been battling ISIS militants in the Sinai where terrorists have been driving out Christians and launching massive attacks on security personnel and Muslims who have the courage to defy them.  It is estimated that ISIS militants have murdered over a thousand Egyptian security personnel and are seeking to cleanse the entire region Christians.  The violence in the Sinai climaxed in November of 2017 when ISIS terrorists attacked the al-Rawda Mosque, killing over 300 worshipers at Friday Prayers.  Thus far, there is so sign of violence ending anywhere in the countryside.

Coptic Christians are infuriated by this latest attack.  For far too long they have fallen victim to mass shootings, church bombings, and sex slavery.  One Coptic Christians was interviewed at the funerals and asked "Should I carry a gun withe me when I go to pray or when I go home?  Because I could die if I go to church."  Others have vowed to follow the teachings of Jesus and love their persecutors, no matter what, but they also want to ask them "Why are you doing this to us?  We do not commit malice toward anyone!"  Despite their suffering, the Coptic Christians remain defiant.  The funerals were accompanied with the chant "With our Souls, With our Blood, We Will Defend the Cross!"
