Boko Haram Terrorists Attack & Murder Bridal Party

The Terror of Boko Haram knows no bounds.  For years they have kept Nigeria in an iron grip of fear, attacking churches, kidnapping women for sex slavery, even murdering Muslims who oppose their murderous agenda.  Nobody is safe from Boko Haram.  One of Boko Haram's most notorious actions is to set up "checkpoints."  Militants set up stations on the roads and stand guard, waiting for people to come by.  When families or groups of people arrive, they're stopped and questioned about their faith and their beliefs.  Christians who are stopped are often given a choice: convert or die.  At times, they're not even given a choice, they're simply killed.  Such was the case for Martha Bulus.  On Dec. 26, 2019, Martha was a bride, heading to her wedding in the Adamwa State province of Nigeria.  On her way to her wedding, Martha and her bridal party was stopped by a Boko Haram road block, and they would not let her pass.

Martha Bulus & Her Murdered Bridesmaids

The Boko Haram militants decapitated Martha and two members of her Bridal Party.  Despite promises from the Nigerian government to halt these actions, the killing and abductions are continuing.  As it stands, the Nigerian government and its coalition of forces from Chad, Niger, & Cameroon are struggling to even slow down the attacks, let alone stop them.  The same day that these three women were killed, the Islamic State in West Africa Province, a breakaway group of Boko Haram, murdered 11 Christian aid workers.  In a 56-second video, Boko Haram shot one of the workers, then beheaded the remaining 10.  The previous month, Sam Brownback, the U.S. Ambassador for International Religious Freedom announced that for the first time, the U.S. was putting Nigerian on the Special Watch List due to the ongoing violence as well as the Nigerian government's inability and unwillingness to stop the ongoing atrocities.  At this present time, Open Doors USA lists Nigeria as #9 on the list of nations considered most dangerous for Christians.
