Anti-Semitic Attacks Sweep Across the U.S.

The recent conflict between Israel and Hamas has led to a rise in anti-Semitic attacks all across the United States.  In Los Angeles, there was an attack caught on video of a group of Pro-Palestinian protestors driving by and yelling insults at Jews who were dining outside at a sushi restaurant.  The antagonists screamed "Death to Jews" & "Free Palestine" and soon began throwing bottles and other items at the patrons.  Soon afterward, several of the assailants got out of the car and physically attacked several Jews.  In another unrelated incident, a video caught another assailant in his car attempting to run down a Jewish man.

Waseem Awawdeh: In the Center Holding Crutch
Unfortunately, these attacks were not limited to Los Angeles.  In New York City, a gang of Pro-Palestinian protestors attacked and brutally beat Joseph Borgen, a 29-year-old Orthodox Jew (Link to Joseph's Testimony).  The incident caught on video showed Joseph being brutally beaten with fists, signs, and metal crutches and then being pepper sprayed in the face as he lay beaten in the street.  Recently, one of the assailants, 23-year-old Waseem Awawdeh, was arrested.  During his arrest, Waseem expressed no remorse and said he'd do it again.

One of the suspects in the Los Angles attack has recently been apprehended, as has Waseem Awawdeh for his role in attacking Joseph Borgen in New York.

Waseem has been in trouble with the law in the past.  He has previously been arrested for reckless endangerment, driving without a license, and carrying a weapon.  At this present time, Waseem is currently being held on a $10,000 bail.  Sadly, these kinds of things are not uncommon at many "Pro-Palestinian" demonstrations.  All too often I've read reports of such demonstrators attacking Jews and other Pro-Israeli activists and many such demonstrations contain hateful chants like "Death to Jews" and "Hamas!  Hamas!  Jews, Jews to the Gas!"  While there are many within the Pro-Palestinian movement who legitimately want peace and reconciliation, there is nevertheless a very vocal minority that do not.
