The Qur'an & the Mary Dilemma

Image
It is believed by practitioners of Islam that the Qur'an is the direct, un-flawed, and unchanged spoken word of Allah himself to Muhammad.  If there is but one mistake in the Qur'an, then it's wrong.  In fact, the Qur'an itself says this.  Surah 4:82 -"Then do they not Reflect upon the Qur'an?  If it had been from [any] other than Allah, they would have found in it much contradiction.  Well, there is much contradiction in the Qur'an, but for now, we shall focus on one.   Years ago when I was examining the Bible and the Qu'ran, I noticed an odd finding.   In Surah 19, entitled "Maryam," we read in Surah 19:16-19 tells how the Mary received Jesus even though she was a Virgin.  However, as we read on to Surah 19:27-28 , I noticed something strange.  The verse reads: " Then she brought him to her people, carrying him. They said, "O Mary, you have certainly done a thing unprecedented.   O sister of Aaron, your father was not ...

The UK Denies Iranian Christian Convert Asylum: Citing Christianity is "not Peaceful

Image
In March of 2019, I was astounded to learn that the United Kingdom rejected a request for asylum by an Iranian refugee who fled his country after leaving Islam and converting to Christianity.  Their justification is that the UK immigration department stated that Christianity is "not a religion of peace," and tried to justify their claim by citing passages from the Old Testament and Book of Revelation to show that there are passages that encourage violence.   The immigration caseworker who has been helping this man stated on social media: " “I’ve seen a lot over the years, but even I was genuinely shocked to read this unbelievably offensive diatribe being used to justify a refusal of asylum.” Th is is astounding, but not surprising.  The British government has denied genuine asylum seekers time and again, citing reasons that are completely basis.  For instance, the UK chose not to grant asylum to Asia Bibi, a Pakistani Christian woman who was acquitted...

The Christchurch Mosque Massacre

Image
I, like many, am greatly saddened by the senseless massacre of innocent people at the Al Noor Mosque and Linwood Islamic Center in Christchurch, New Zealand.  Unfortunately, I cannot say that I am surprised that this terrible shooting happened.  Over the years, I have watched many human rights activists predicting that a massacre like this was inevitable, not simply because of the presence of White Nationalists who have been guilty of carrying out the murder of innocents for decades, but because the Politically Correct Media, Politicians, and Leftist Activists have worked to silence any and all peaceful criticism of the ever present danger Islamic Jihad.  In reality, those who push for this are doing exactly what the hate activists want, whether they be the Jihadist haters, the Far Left haters, or the Far Right haters.  Before we consider this phenomena, let us look at the motives of the shooter.   Christchurch Mosque Massacre The New York Daily News...

Reverend Wurmbrand & Psalm 56:3

Image
Reverend Richard Wurmbrand was a born in Romania on March 24th, 1909 and died in California on February 17, 2001.  Reverend Wurmbrand and his wife Sabina were both of Jewish descent and were atheists before they accepted Jesus in the 1930's.  During the Second World War, Reverend Wurmbrand and his wife were persecuted by the Nazis and the Romanian Fascists due to their Jewish descent.  Most of Sabina's family perished at the hands of the Nazis and the Wurmbrands found themselves subject to numerous arrests and beatings.  Despite being persecuted under Hitler's Final Solution, the Wurmbrand's did their best to assist Jews and other targeted by the Nazis.  Unfortunately, the end of the War did not bring Liberation to the nation of Romania.  In truth, the Nazi Terror was only replaced by the equally demonic Red Terror. When commenting on the the Red Terror that followed the War, Reverend Wurmbrand stated that" The Nazis did one good thing for the people, t...

Gwar vs. Charlie Hebdo

Image
Years ago when attending an Alice Cooper Concert, the rock band Gwar was performing on a side stage.  During their performance, they spent much of their stage show mocking God.  During the show, the band brought out a life-size dummy of Jesus Christ on a Cross and began hammering spikes into it and stabbing it with a spear.  As a Christian, I didn't care to watch this, so I chose to return to my seat and wait for the main act.  Do you know what happened after the concert?  Nothing.  No media outlets were accusing Gwar of promoting hatred & intolerance.  No radical Christians launched armed attacks or threatened the bands life.  No church put out a call for them to be physically harmed.  The show ended, and that was it.    This played out much differently when the French Satire Magazine Charlie Hebdo released satiric images of Muhammad, the founder of the Islamic faith.  When this happened, al-Qaeda gunmen attacked the...

Banu Qurayza: The Babi Yar of Arabia

Image
As a scholar of genocide, Babi Yar has always stood out in my memory as it was not only a site of one of the worst atrocities committed in the Second World War, it was also a site that human rights activists fought for decades to preserve site in our memory and served as an important event for Holocaust scholars to understand the Nazi Leaderships drastic decision to initiate the Final Solution against the Jewish population of Europe.  However, there is another massacre of the Jewish people that should be bought to light and preserved  in memory, and that is the Massacre of the Banu Qurayza Jews of Arabia at the hands of Muhammad, the founder of the Islamic faith.  This massacre, like Babi Yar, forever changed the dynamic of the relations between Judaism & Islam.  To understand the dynamic between the two massacres, some background on each one must be provided.   In September 29-30, 1941, the Nazi Death Squads committed one of the worst mass killings...
