Asia Bibi's Brother-in-Law Murdered in Pakistan
For over eight years Pakistani Christian Asia Bibi sat on death row for charges of "Blasphemy." Though the Pakistani Supreme Court overturned the conviction, her life was still in grave danger. Radicals had placed a $10,000 bounty on her head and Asia Bibi and her family had to but flee to Canada. Though Asia and her immediate family are safe, her extended family in Pakistan is not. On May 24th, Asia's brother-in-Law Younas Masih left home to do his daily farm work, and he never came back. The following morning Younas Masih was found with his throat slit. Yousas Masih has become the latest victim of Asia's blasphemy case. In 2011, the Muslim Governor of Punjab, Salman Taseer was murdered for speaking out on behalf of Asia Bibi. One month later, Religious Minorities Minister Shahbaz Bhatti was murdered for the same reason.
